Other information:

There is a strong link with Robert of Colyton, to William and John of Phillyholme. He married Ellen Bagge, a surname that connects with the later Wakely parishes af Thorncombe (just north of Hawkchurch) and Whitchurch Canonicorum (immediately south-east of Hawhchurch) and he had a son Waiter in 1540. Waiter connects with a new line of Whitchurch Wakelys, headed by a Walter.

Robert is known to have died before 1544, as his wife remarried then. He could equally well be William's brother or son - depending on his age at marriage to Ellen Bagge.

Colyton was probably the leading local cloth trade centre of the time. It is where we find John Rockett alias Wakely later in the 16th century.
