Other information:

Thomas was probably named after his great grandfather Thomas Rockett alias Wakely of Thorncombe (b: c1575).

In line with what might now be seen by the eighteenth century as a long established tradition or even a family joke, he got married as a Wakely to Dorothy Davie 9th May 1704 at Stoke Abbott but christened his eldest son Thomas Rockett at the end of the same year.

The fate of Thomas's descendants (who emerge over time as substantial farmers) suggest that he had inherited some wealth.

It is likely that he died before 1730 as his younger brother Abraham was on the hundred jury as yeoman of Stoke Abbott in 1730. If Thomas had been alive at that time there is no doubt that being a person of substance and means he would also have been selected for the jury.
